Inverted

Salt Lake is situated in a rare type of closed valley and susceptible to a unique weather phenomenon known ominously as "the inversion." Cold air traps pollution and moisture in the valley causing Salt Lake City to become swallowed by the clouds.  From the Wasatch Front the sun can be seen setting over the Oquirrh Mountains on a particularly inverted December day.
